• Type 1 Survey: This survey will identify any known or suspected ACMs that are easily accessible, and the report will cover any areas and items that the surveyor can reasonably access. It is a management survey that can identify if there are any ACMs that might cause harm to the people working or living in the property.

• Type 2 Survey: This survey is a more detailed inspection that involves both sampling and identification of materials suspected to contain asbestos. The aim of this survey is to provide more accurate information about the location, type, and extent of ACMs in a building

• Type 3 Survey: This survey is required when the property owner is planning for refurbishment, demolition, or major construction work. It is a full-scale survey that samples all suspected and known ACMs, which will provide detailed information about their condition, location, and extent.
