The survey is carried out by a qualified and experienced asbestos surveyor who uses specialized equipment, techniques, and protocols. There are two main types of asbestos surveys:

• Management Survey: This is a standard survey that is required for all non-domestic properties to identify any ACMs that may be present, assess their condition, and recommend how to manage them safely. This survey involves sampling and analysis of suspected materials, and it may also involve minor intrusive work.
• Refurbishment/Demolition Survey: This is a more comprehensive survey that is required when a property is undergoing major refurbishment, renovation, or demolition. It involves a full inspection of all areas of the building or site, including hidden spaces and structures, to identify any ACMs that may be disturbed during the works. This survey involves extensive sampling and analysis, and it may also involve major intrusive work.
