Asbestos surveys are a crucial part of managing and controlling the risk of asbestos in buildings. There are two main types of asbestos surveys: management surveys and refurbishment/demolition surveys.

Management Surveys

A management survey is a non-intrusive survey that aims to identify the presence, location, and condition of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in a building. This survey is designed to help building owners and managers comply with their legal duty to manage asbestos in their premises.

During a management survey, our surveyors will visually inspect all accessible areas of the building for ACMs. This includes sampling and analysing suspected ACMs to confirm their presence and type.

Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys

Refurbishment/demolition surveys are more intrusive surveys that are carried out prior to refurbishment or demolition work. This type of survey is necessary to identify and manage the risk of asbestos during the work.

During a refurbishment/demolition survey, our surveyors will undertake a thorough inspection of the building, including all areas that are due to be refurbished or demolished. This survey is designed to identify all ACMs that may be disturbed during the work.
