Our Asbestos Survey Services

We offer three types of asbestos surveys, depending on the purpose and scope of the project:

Asbestos Management Survey

An asbestos management survey is the most common type of survey and is required by law for all non-domestic buildings that were constructed before 2000. The survey aims to identify, assess, and manage any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) that may be present in the building, to prevent exposure to workers and others who may come into contact with them.

Our surveyors will carry out a comprehensive inspection of the building, including all accessible and non-accessible areas such as ceilings, floors, walls, pipes, and ducts. We will take samples of suspected ACMs and send them to a UKAS-accredited laboratory for analysis. The survey report will provide a detailed description of the ACMs, their location, and condition, and a risk assessment and management plan.

Refurbishment and Demolition Survey

A refurbishment and demolition survey is required before any major refurbishment or demolition works are carried out on a building. The survey aims to identify and manage any ACMs that may be disturbed during the works, and to ensure that they are safely removed or encapsulated.

Our surveyors will carry out a more intrusive inspection of the building, including all areas that may be affected by the works, such as walls, floors, ceilings, and services. We will take samples of suspected ACMs and send them to a UKAS-accredited laboratory for analysis. The survey report will provide a detailed description of the ACMs, their location, and condition, and a recommendation for their removal or management.
