Asbestos Management Survey

An asbestos management survey is required for non-domestic buildings and must be carried out before any refurbishment or demolition works take place. The survey is non-intrusive and involves taking samples of suspected materials that could contain asbestos.

Our experienced surveyors will visit your property and take samples of the suspected materials. These samples are then sent to a UKAS accredited laboratory for testing. We will provide you with a detailed report that identifies the location and condition of any ACMs found and advise you on the recommended course of action.

Asbestos Refurbishment/Demolition Survey

An asbestos refurbishment/demolition survey is required when a building (domestic or non-domestic) is to be refurbished or demolished. The survey is intrusive and involves accessing areas that may not normally be accessible.

Our experienced surveyors will visit your property and take samples of all suspected materials, even those in hard-to-reach areas such as ceiling voids or behind walls. These samples are then sent to a UKAS accredited laboratory for testing. We will provide you with a detailed report that identifies the location and condition of any ACMs found and advise you on the recommended course of action.

The Sampling Methods Used for Asbestos Testing

Sampling for asbestos testing is typically done using one of two approaches: bulk sampling and air monitoring.

Bulk Sampling

Bulk sampling is a process in which a small piece of material suspected of containing asbestos is collected and sent to an accredited laboratory for analysis. Any materials that are friable (easily crumbled or powdered) will almost certainly contain asbestos fibers. More often than not, hard materials such as cement or vinyl do not contain asbestos.
