Management Survey

A management survey is required for all non-domestic properties built before 2000. It is also recommended for domestic properties during refurbishment or before major renovation work.

The aim of a management survey is to identify the presence, location and extent of any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in the building that could be disturbed and release fibers into the air during normal occupancy and maintenance.

Refurbishment and Demolition Survey

A refurbishment and demolition survey is required before any refurbishment or demolition work takes place in any part of a building built before 2000. Its purpose is to locate and identify all ACMs in the area where the refurbishment or demolition is planned and for sure that they are removed safely prior to the work commencing.

Bulk Sampling

Bulk sampling is the most common form of asbestos testing. It involves collecting a small sample of the suspected material, sealing it in a bag, and sending it to an accredited laboratory for analysis. The analysis will determine if the material contains asbestos, and if so, what type and percentage.
