Asbestos Removal & Garage Roof Replacements in Bovey Tracey

How We Work in Bovey Tracey & Surrounding Villages

Because Bovey Tracey sits right within our core 15-mile working radius of Devon, we don't charge inflated call-out fees or keep you waiting weeks for a slot. Whether your property is tucked off Fore Street, out on the post-war estates near Heathfield, or up a narrow lane towards Lustleigh, Hennock, or Haytor Vale, we know the local layout well.

Common Asbestos Jobs We See Locally

Sitting right at the foot of the moor means roofs around Bovey Tracey take a heavier battering from wind-driven rain, frost, and heavy moss growth than properties down on the coast. A lot of the sectional concrete garages, workshops, and garden outbuildings put up here between the 1950s and 1980s still have their original corrugated asbestos cement sheets. Over decades, frost gets into hairline cracks, bolts rust through, and heavy moss holds damp against the underside until water starts dripping onto your tools or car.

We also get called out to older cottages and bungalows undergoing renovation where builders have uncovered asbestos floor tiles under carpets, cement soffits, old rainwater downpipes, or textured Artex ceilings that need clearing before plasterers or electricians can crack on.

What a Site Visit & Removal Day Looks Like

• ✓ Straightforward Quoting: Give us a ring or send over a couple of photos and rough measurements of your garage or outbuilding. When needed, we'll pop up to Bovey Tracey to check drive access, timber purlin condition, and roof pitch in person—free of charge.
• ✓ Access & Parking Checked First: Some streets near the town centre and older lanes towards Brimley or Chudleigh Knighton are tight for larger commercial vehicles. We plan our van positioning and sheet-carrying routes beforehand so we don't block neighbours.
• ✓ Controlled, Dampened Dismantling: On the day, our team sets up a clear work zone, wears full PPE and respirators, and damps down the cement sheets to stop fibre release. We unbolt or crop fixings carefully rather than smashing sheets, double-wrap everything in heavy-duty polythene, and load it straight onto our enclosed waste vehicle.
• ✓ Same-Day Re-Roofing on Most Garages: For a standard single or double garage, we usually strip the old asbestos roof and fit the new replacement roof—complete with treated timber battens if needed, modern plastisol-coated steel or corrugated sheets, ridge cappings, and fresh uPVC guttering—within a single day.
