Asbestos is a dangerous fiber that was widely used in the construction industry for many years due to its durability, heat resistance, and insulating properties. However, it was later discovered that asbestos fibers are incredibly harmful when inhaled as they can cause a range of asbestos-related diseases such as mesothelioma, lung cancer, and asbestosis.

Due to the dangerous nature of asbestos, the UK Government introduced strict regulations that require asbestos surveys to be conducted in all buildings constructed prior to 2000. The purpose of these surveys is to identify any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) present within the property and to assess the potential risks associated with these materials.
