Affordable Asbestos Removal Devon

As a homeowner or property manager in Devon, you may be wondering if you need a licence to remove asbestos floor tiles. The answer is not a simple yes or no. In the UK, asbestos removal is regulated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), and the rules can be complex. At 1st Choice Asbestos, we're here to help you navigate the process and ensure that your property is safe and asbestos-free.

Asbestos floor tiles can contain chrysotile, a type of asbestos that was commonly used in building materials until the 1990s. When disturbed, these tiles can release asbestos fibres into the air, posing a serious health risk to anyone in the vicinity. If you suspect that your property has asbestos floor tiles, it's essential to take action to minimize the risk of exposure.

In most cases, you will need a licence to remove asbestos floor tiles, especially if the tiles are damaged or deteriorating. The HSE requires that asbestos removal work is carried out by a licensed contractor, such as 1st Choice Asbestos. Our team of experienced professionals has the necessary training and equipment to safely remove asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) from your property.

At 1st Choice Asbestos, we follow a strict protocol to ensure that asbestos removal work is carried out safely and efficiently. Our process typically involves:

• Conducting a thorough survey to identify the presence of asbestos
• Developing a management plan to minimize the risk of exposure
