Affordable Asbestos Removal Devon

If you're a homeowner or business owner in Devon, you may be wondering if removing asbestos-containing floor tiles is a notifiable task. At 1st Choice Asbestos, we're here to provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions about asbestos removal in your property.

In the UK, notifiable asbestos work refers to any work that involves the removal, repair, or disturbance of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in a way that could release asbestos fibres into the air. This type of work must be carried out by a licensed asbestos removal contractor, and the work must be notified to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in advance.

The answer to this question depends on the type of asbestos-containing floor tiles you have and the extent of the work involved. If the tiles are bonded to the floor with a strong adhesive, such as cement, and are not likely to release asbestos fibres during removal, the work may not be notifiable. However, if the tiles are loose or damaged, or if the removal process involves breaking or drilling into the tiles, the work is likely to be notifiable.
