Affordable Asbestos Removal Devon

As a homeowner or business owner in Devon, it's essential to understand the laws and regulations surrounding asbestos removal. Asbestos is a hazardous material that can cause serious health problems, including lung cancer and mesothelioma. The UK government has implemented strict regulations to ensure the safe removal and disposal of asbestos.

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012) is the primary legislation governing asbestos removal in the UK. The regulations require that all asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) be identified, assessed, and removed by a licensed contractor. The regulations also specify the training and equipment required for asbestos removal.

Only licensed contractors, like 1st Choice Asbestos, are permitted to remove asbestos-containing materials in the UK. Our team of experts has undergone extensive training and has the necessary equipment to safely remove and dispose of asbestos. We operate within a 20-mile radius of Dawlish, covering areas such as Teignmouth, Newton Abbot, and Exeter.

There are two main types of asbestos-containing materials: licensable and non-licensable. Licensable asbestos includes materials such as asbestos insulation, asbestos coating, and asbestos lagging. These materials require a licensed contractor for removal. Non-licensable asbestos, such as asbestos cement, can be removed by a non-licensed contractor, but only if they have received the necessary training.

Asbestos waste must be disposed of at a licensed waste facility. We, at 1st Choice Asbestos, take care of the entire process, from removal to disposal, ensuring that the asbestos waste is handled and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
