Affordable Asbestos Removal Devon

As a homeowner in Devon, you may be aware of the risks associated with asbestos Artex ceilings. These ceilings, popular in the 1960s and 1970s, contain asbestos, a hazardous material that can cause serious health problems when disturbed. If you're considering removing an asbestos Artex ceiling, it's essential to understand the regulations surrounding this process.

In the past, all asbestos removal work required a license from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). However, in 2012, the HSE introduced the Non-Licensed Work with Asbestos (NLW) regulations, which allow for some asbestos removal work to be carried out without a license. This includes the removal of asbestos Artex ceilings, as long as the work is done safely and in accordance with the regulations.

If you're a homeowner in Devon, you may be able to remove an asbestos Artex ceiling yourself, without the need for a licensed contractor. However, this is only the case if the ceiling is in good condition and the removal process will not disturb the asbestos. If the ceiling is damaged or the removal process will disturb the asbestos, it's still recommended that you hire a licensed contractor to do the job.
