If you're a homeowner or business owner in Devon, you may be wondering when asbestos was removed from Artex. Artex, a popular ceiling and wall coating, was widely used in the UK until the 1990s. However, it contained asbestos, a hazardous material that can cause serious health problems. In this article, we'll explore the history of asbestos in Artex and what you can do to ensure your safety.

Artex was first introduced in the 1930s and quickly became a popular choice for ceilings and walls due to its durability and fire-resistant properties. However, it wasn't until the 1970s that the dangers of asbestos became widely known. Despite this, Artex continued to contain asbestos until the 1990s, when it was finally phased out. If your property was built or renovated before the 1990s, there's a good chance that it contains asbestos in the Artex.
