Working Across Kingsteignton — What to Expect
Because our yard and base are just down the road in Dawlish, getting out to Kingsteignton via Humber Lane or the B3192 and A380 takes us no time at all. We don't charge call-out fees to come and look at your garage or outbuilding, and we don't send salespeople—you will deal directly with experienced roofers who actually do the work.
A lot of the residential estates built around Kingsteignton from the 1950s through to the late 1970s—along with older cottages and commercial plots near the clay pits and retail parks—still have their original corrugated asbestos cement garage roofs, soffits, and cast or cement downpipes. After forty or fifty winters, those sheets go porous, grow thick moss, and start cracking around the hook bolts.
How We Handle Site Access & Removal on the Day
- Quoting & Inspection: We measure the footprint, check the condition of your timber purlins or concrete trusses, and check driveway or rear-lane access for our waste vehicle.
- Safe Dismantling: On the day of the job, we lay heavy-duty polythene sheeting, wet down the asbestos cement to keep fibres suppressed, and unbolt or crop the fixings carefully without smashing or sawing the sheets.
- Wrapping & Paperwork: Every sheet and piece of ridge capping is double-wrapped in UN-approved hazardous waste polythene, sealed, and loaded onto our vehicle. You receive the hazardous waste consignment note for your property records.
- Same-Day Re-Roofing: For standard single or double garages, we usually strip the old roof in the morning and fit the new timber battens and modern profile sheeting before we pack up that afternoon, keeping your garage dry and secure.
Please note: While we handle the complete removal, disposal, and roof replacement, we do not carry out asbestos testing or surveys. If you need a formal pre-purchase survey, you will need an independent surveyor first—once you know what needs shifting, give us a ring.
